The Flaine Montsoleil Resort is renowned for its bold modern architecture, signed by Marcel Breuer amongst others, and by the omnipresent sculptures made by well-known artists, such as Dubuffet, Picasso and other European masters.
This project is harmoniously integrated into its environment and respects the mountainous character of the area. It is comprised of three main sectors: the arrival, the entrance and the aquatic area.
The layout takes advantage of the close proximity of the rock face by creating many little terraces. On these terraces the heart of the village was created. It offers spectacular views of the historic valley of Flaine. In order to respect the natural topography of the site, the architecture limited most units to only a few high density buildings built on lesser slopes, instead of building a multitude of smaller separate buildings dispersed over the valley.
