Solano

Solano is a deluxe condominium project built on the southern edge of Faubourg Quebec in the heart of Old Montreal. The 10 storey high tower faces the Saint Lawrence River and surrounds a private inner courtyard accessible through two main archways. A central lawn area, planted with Beech trees and surrounded by a pathway, separates the private terraces from the main public open space and provides a screen between facing residential units.

A water fountain, in the northern corner of the courtyard, is the main focal point of this landscape. The water surface catches and reflects the sun while the sound of falling water blocks out the noise of the surrounding urban environment. The private terraces are paved with brick and are bordered by low stone walls, wooden privacy screens and hillocks planted with perennials, which provides a garden atmosphere to the whole space.
