In the event of the future development of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), the City is planning the redesign of vehicular accesses surrounding this project. Specifically, it will affect Decarie Boulevard between St. Jacques Street and Maisonneuve Boulevard and the Maisonneuve Street intersection, including two railway overpasses (Upper Lachine and Decarie).
In concert with two other consultants, and under the leadership of Cima+, Projet Paysage is mandated by the City of Montreal to produce the urban analysis and landscape concepts for the area, and specifically to define the urban shape of Boulevard Decarie with its surfaces, furniture and plantings. The use of bio-retention ponds along the sidewalk and a central boulevard are proposed in this innovative project that adheres to the principles of sustainable development.
