Le Centre Thoracique

This project involved the extension of the Montreal Chest Hospital, a research center affiliated with the McGill University Health Center, located on St. Urban Street in Montreal. Simply landscaped, this small space consists mainly of an assortment of brick paving stones. The warm colour of these paving stones blends in harmoniously with the brick building facade.

Three parking spaces were preserved and integrated through densely planted areas including trees, shrubs and ornamental grasses which act as a visual buffer to the surrounding buildings. These green plateaus are retained by arched stone walls of varied heights that can be used as benches. On the other side, the symmetrical entrance and staircase feature colourful planting beds.
